Skincare in your 30s

Nobody likes to think about wrinkles, but this is the time that the wrinkles start to show up, but usually in very fine lines or in natural movement patterns. Your thirties are a time for you to focus on what makes your skin healthy in the long-term and to establish patterns that will keep your skin clear and healthy looking both with and without make up.

Wash and Wear

At thirty, you might start noticing a few more lines and perhaps some dark circles under your eyes from time to time, but you will probably still appear reasonably young in the mirror. Keep your skin clean by washing in the morning and again in the evening to remove oils and grease that accumulate in the night or during your day. Make it a point to wash, exfoliate and moisturize every time you think about cleaning your face.

Use the Right Products

Use the heavier duty wrinkle potions now rather than waiting for the more serious wrinkles to appear. Many of the newest lotions and potions have compounds that help to reduce and prevent lines and wrinkles. You may not have a single line on your face at this point, but you can actually prevent many of them by using the more intensive moisturizers and exfoliators now instead of waiting another decade. Introduce the line-fighting cleansers, toners and moisturizers to your routines and don’t be afraid to try a few of the products to find the ones that work best for your skin tone.

Healthy Inside and Out

Your skin is going to start showing the wear and tear its endured for the last thirty years. You’ll see the sun damage from tanning beds and perhaps some unfortunate consequences of choices like smoking or a poor diet. Make it a point to cut out any of these bad habits now to preserve your skin going forward. Stay out of the sun without a hat and sunscreen and quit smoking. Make it a point to drink more water and grab some vitamins. Your skin is your largest organ and you should treat it as such.
